I left
off how what was happening to my world, Sudan invaded of Kuwait. I was having our first-born.
My
husband was on the verge of deploying for the first time and for a long-time, OK long for us. In the mist of this, my
husband and father in law strongly suggested I go down to Florida to have the
baby, in case my husband is deployed and I am taking myself to the
hospital. With that being said, I
strongly protested, however, my father was having surgery, so we packed our
bags and left the following week.
Once I
was in the sunshine state, it seemed that I was never going to have the baby. I was able to split my time staying with my
in laws and with my parents. Truthfully,
I was huge and hot all the time, which brought my state of mind, we will let us
just say I was not a pleasant person, at the time of birth, I had to go to MacDill
Air force base in Tampa, to have our baby.
At the gate, I was so frustrated, not to mention hot and in pain, and
not in the right frame of mind. Meanwhile
when the guard asks me if he could do anything, I look back at the people and
then ask if the man's gun was real and if so could he use it on those people,
he nervously laughed and told me to go through the gate and head to the
hospital. Again, for those who were with
me, I am very grateful they were there, but at the time all I wanted was my husband
but the army required his services instead.
After many hours, our bundle of joy finally came and my
husband was able to join us the next day and was able to stay with us for three
days before duty calls and he had to go do the job he was trained to do.
